licence to fish New Millennium

Once every thousand years comes a song that defines the age.

Sadly, it’s not the Gorskys’ New Millennium.

Probably it was something like Greensleeves, which has been around for hundreds of years and really sticks annoyingly in your head.

But Greensleeves isn’t a tongue in cheek look at Millennium hype.

From its hard rock drums and terrified opening line “we’re all going to die”, to the closing insane ramblings, New Millennium sends up the hype in a way that the Backstreet Boys never could.

And it sticks quite annoyingly in your head.

New Millennium is included on the Gorskys album “Licence to Fish”.

Where to buy?

What are the lyrics to New Millennium?

We’re all going to die
The end of the world is nigh
Computer clocks will go awry
In the new millennium

We’re all going to die in the new millennium
And if we don’t we won’t know what day it is
Life won’t be the same in the new millennium
Video recorders might get confused
And tape the show you want them to

We’re all going to die
Planes will fall out of the sky
And kill all of the passers-by
In the new millennium

Traffic lights are goning to fail
Murderers will escape from jail
You won’t receive any more email
In the new millennium

You’ll have to write with a pen
In the new millennium
Because there won’t be word processors to type in
Life won’t be the same in the new millennium
Digital scales might get confused
And tell you that you’re really thin

The Stockmarket is going to crash
Banks will run out of ready cash
There’ll be no more repeats of M*A*S*H
In the new millennium

No more money for Bill Gates
Nuclear bombs are going to devastate
And all the trains will be running … late
In the new millennium

New millennium
new millennium
new millennium
new millennium
new millennium
new millennium
etc
